Giving is a response to God’s Greatness

Psalm 96:4-8
For the Lord is great, and greatly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods.
For all the gods of the nations are idols: but the Lord made the heavens.
Honour and majesty are before him: strength and beauty are in his sanctuary.
GIVE unto the Lord, O ye kindreds of the people, give unto the Lord glory and strength.
Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name: bring an OFFERING, and come into his courts.

Greatness is connected to honor, and honor is connected to greatness. We honor God with our giving. Giving is a response to greatness.

When Abraham, who was great himself, met Melchisedek, who was greater, he gave him tithes of all.

Hebrews 7:4
Now consider how great this man was, unto whom even the patriarch Abraham gave the tenth of the spoils.

Solomon’s offering was one of the greatest ever given.Solomon built a great house for a great God, and gave a great offering

1 Kings 8:63
And Solomon offered a sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered unto the Lord, two and twenty thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of the Lord.

2 Chronicles 7:5
And king Solomon offered a sacrifice of twenty and two thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep: so the king and all the people dedicated the house of God.

Giving is a part of giving to the Lord the glory due unto his name.

1 Chronicles 16:29
Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come before him: worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.

Does the tithe belong to the pastor or the church, according to scripture ? Malachi says to bring it to the altar so I believe it means the church nut I am told that in the New Testament it says that it belongs to the pastor……which is BIBLICALLY correct ?

I am glad about all your teachings and I am blessed I have come to know your Ministries. Can you explain more about the giving, how should it be preached, how should the heart that gives be? The bible says we must not give grudgingly but cheerful. Can’t the preaching, at times, cause the heart give grudgingly? How important is the message of giving in ensuring that the heart is cheerful?
